The apartment is situated on the 1st floor (without lift) of a very attractive historic building. The room contains a double sofa bed. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom has a shower.
The apartment is located in one of the liveliest and trendiest districts of Berlin, in Prenzlauer Berg which is especially loved by young people due to its laid-back and modern lifestyle. Within the last few years, however, this district became also more and more attractive for families due to the increasing child-friendly infrastructure (playgrounds, kindergardens etc.). Just around the corner you find the popular “Kulturbrauerei”, a former brewery which is now a favoured location for concerts and other cultural events. You should not miss going to the nearby “Mauerpark”. The name translates to “Wall Park”, referring to its status as a former part of the Berlin Wall and its Death Strip having been turned into a public park. Every Sunday there is a popular flea market taking place where you can browse around and find interesting books, CDs or other things. If you would like to go out for a nice and quiet walk, you should go to the nearby park “Volkspark am Weinberg”. The key tourist attractions such as Friedrichstrasse, the museum island, the Brandenburg Gate etc. can easily be reached by public transport within 15 minutes.
The registration to the authorities is possible (Anmeldung). If this will be requested, you will be asked by the authorities to pay a residential tax called GEZ for the apartment (issued with a personal specific number valid in all apartments in Germany where you will live; it is not anymore a tax related to television and radio).
